Lamitak shows off its latest designs at Guangzhou Design Week 2019

The Sven Knarvick Birch laminate at the entrance to the booth creates a warm welcome. Line etchings on the laminate surface add another dimension to the design.

A proud Singapore-born brand, Lamitak has established a strong presence in Asia with offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong and Thailand. We brought our latest collection recently to Guangzhou with a showcase at one of China’s most important contemporary design events, the Guangzhou Design Week, now in its 13th year. The trade exhibition, held at the Poly World Trade Centre from 5th to 8th December, was a must-visit for professionals in the interior design and building industry. Lamitak was proud to be part of this eminent event, to introduce our new designs from Volume Two of our Portfolio.

For Lamitak, the process of design always starts with a journey of discovery. Visitors are encouraged to find out more about our journey through our laminate designs.

Featuring a colour palette of moss green, light wood and dark grey to project an urban yet warm and comfortable appeal, the displays at the booth provided a snapshot of Lamitak’s creativity and innovation. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by the wood-look Sven Knarvick Birch laminate which was inspired by the weathered birchwood of historical churches that have stood for hundreds of years in the wilderness of Norway. The laminate was selected for its broad appeal and welcoming presence.

The look of luxurious bookmatched marble is now more easily attainable, with marble-inspired laminates such as Lunigiana Uno and Due.

The brand’s Lunigiana Uno and Due laminates, inspired by the look of bookmatched marble, was also prominently displayed, bringing a touch of luxury to the space. This innovative offering is a Lamitak showpiece, expressing the brand’s continuous efforts to push the decorative boundaries of laminates. Exhibiting alongside are the latest designs of the new Lamitak catalogue, in full size sheets.

The line etchings on the Gustave Beton laminate echo the pattern at the entrance.

The Lamitak booth saw a healthy crowd at the four-day event.

Another laminate in the spotlight is Gustave Beton, belonging to a collection of concrete-look laminates named after three French brothers who pioneered the use of reinforced concrete for architecture in the early 20th century. The laminate clads the wall of the reception area, and together with the deep green of Moss and Sven Knarvick Birch laminates of the counter, create a look that is perfectly in sync with current design trends.

Lamitak’s latest designs were prominently displayed at the booth, which featured a clean minimalist look.

The fun and bold designs of artäk were used in laminate collages to show there is more than one way to use laminates.

Visitors also got a look at artäk, Lamitak’s standout laminate collection grounded in graphic design patterns. A series of collages created using artäk in combination with other laminate designs presented fresh and unexpected ways the material can be applied. In the same vein, some plant pots in the booth were wrapped with the Gustave Beton laminate to make them look like concrete.

A QR code placed on laminate samples allowed visitors to scan and get information on the designs instantly via Lamitak’s WeChat account

The popularity of the Lamitak booth and its products, as well as the hard work of the team, was validated when the brand was given The Recommended Brand, Guangzhou Design Week 2019 award by the organisers!
